Veterans Day Ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery

Saturday, November 11, 2017, we commemorated the 100th anniversary for the end of World War I, “the War to End All Wars.”  Post member and District Commander Chuck Wilson was the Master of Ceremonies at Quantico National Cemetery and the guest speaker was US Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein.  General Goldfein made a point to meet Post member and USAF Colonel (Retired)  Gene Deatrick famous for his rescue of Navy Lieutenant Dieter Dengler in Vietnam in 1966.

Post 7916 is also very proud of our Boy Scouts that braved 24 degree temperatures to set up all the chairs and flags for the ceremony.  It is great to know that we charter organizations that develop these young patriots for a life of service to the nation in whatever form it may take.
